Either you’re still hesitating to start your first bullet journal or you are an advanced user of Ryder Carroll’s system, bullet journal Instagram accounts are perfect places to seek for inspiration (along with Pinterest and Facebook groups).
When I discovered the bullet journal system back in 2015, I read a lot of blogs and I’ve been looking into Instagram before I started to use it. Even though I remained faithful to my first bullet journal role model, I also came across loads of amazing Instagram accounts since then. All of them full of clever ideas and tricks than I sometimes borrow to improve my own organization system.
Today, I’m sharing my 10 favourites bullet journal Instagram accounts. They are the ones I found the most inspirational. Let’s say that if I was only allowed to follow 10 bullet journal Instagram accounts, that would be my list!
1. Kim – Tiny Ray of Sunshine
Kim’s blog is one of the first page I found about the bullet journal system. I actually read pretty much all the posts before I joined her followers on Instagram. Kim’s notebook is the perfect exaple of the efficiency and simplicity of the bullet journal system in its purest form. Simple and beautiful.
Kim is a role model for many bullet journalists, and even though her notebook is probably one of the reasons why, her kindness and sincerity play a major role as well!
2. Marie – Journalspiration
I’ve been following Marie’s journey on Instagram since I installed the app. To be honest, her account was one of my top inspiration to enter the Instagram game myself! I love how clean her layouts are, and I wish one day I’ll be able to keep a feed as bright as hers.
Beside the perfect aesthetic of her feed, it’s also full of ideas to make your journal even more functional and pretty.
3. Gigi – The Bullet Journey
I love how Gigi’s journal is creative and versatile. It’s constantly evolving to follow her needs. It’s all in black and white, but it’s one of the (many) examples that proves that minimalism isn’t boring or unsophisticated.
Her lettered titles and simple layouts are always amaze me.
She announced so time ago that she’s working on a planner, and I can’t wait to see what she’s exactly up to!
4. Yukiko Sakamura
Yukiko’s Instagram account is one of my favourites. Her minimalist bullet journal is just stunning. She uses a pre-printed planner, and shares a ton of ideas to hack it and create the system that perfectly fit your needs. She could (almost) convince me to buy a Hobonichi or a Passion Planner for myself.
I also love that she shares a lot about her work as a teacher, and find her advice very inspirational.
5. Noukka – Simply Productivity
Previously known as Minimalistbujo, Noukka’s account features both her own journal spread, and repost from various bullet journal Instagram accounts.
It’s a good place to start if you’re looking for inspiration, and if you want to find new Instagram accounts to follow.
The focus of the feed is really on function over form, and that’s why I love it so much! When I’m struggling with my bullet journal, I usually find some clue to solve my problem over here.
Noukka is also one of the amazing people behind the Minimalist Bullet Journals Facebook group, which is also one of my top source of inspiration beside Instagram.
6. Maren Janka – Pure Planning by MJ
I LOVE MJ’s Instagram account. It’s pure and bright and just… perfect!
Her spreads are stunning: clean and simple yet not boring at all thanks to the cute stamps she uses. When I see her bullet journal pages, I just wish I could be able to stamp things cleanly in my journal (one can dream right?).
The notebooks of her line are also definitely on my wishlist (but I’m waiting to really need one of them to place an order – aspiring minimalist speaking).
7. Dee – Decade Thirty
Dee’s blog is, along with Kim’s one, where my bullet journal journey actually started. I honestly wouldn’t have started to use the bullet journal system if I hadn’t find her work. It was love at first sight if I may call it that.
Her journal is exactly what mine looks like in my dreams: simple, effective, and filled with a clean and regular handwriting. I’m a huge fan of her lettered gratitude spreads and her flextangle short videos.
Even though her feed is not as consistent as many other bullet journal Instagram accounts, I love her spontaneity and sensibility.
8. Whitney – Life by Whitney
Whitney’s style is pretty far from mine: it’s actually the opposite of minimal. But I still love the bright colors of her layouts, and how genuine her journal looks. Not to mention that I’m always stunned by her creativity. It seems that she could create an infinite amount of weekly layouts without being repetitive.
She’s also a pro at lettering and stamping. All in all, I love her work and her colourful pics add a touch of brightness in my feed, that is usually very monochromatic.
9. Liz – Bonjournal
Liz’s journal is a true piece of art. Her spreads are monochromatic, and yet full of the phantom colours of the stunning flowers she draws on them. I’m always amazed by her creativity and her drawing skills.
Her journal is very close to Ryder’s original bullet journal system. The functional part of it seems to be super simple and effective. For me, it’s the perfect example for people who like artsy journals but still need a minimal system to get organized.
Oh and she’s sharing drawing tutorials in case you’d like to make flowers bloom your own journal!
10. Ursala – Honeyrozes
Ursala is one of my role model for everything bullet journal and project management related. I didn’t thought it was possible to manage multiple projects in a bullet journal before I came across her Instagram bullet journal account and I took inspiration from her spread to create my own system. Her 6 months project timeline and intentions collections are just perfect for future planning and for anyone who needs to manage projects and tasks in the long run.
Of course, there are plenty of amazing bullet journal Instagram accounts! I could have made a list of 50 of my favourites ones, among the 500 accounts I’m currently following…
