Is it too late already for my March discoveries post?
I’ve been in a small blogging/writing slump in March and I wasn’t sure I would have enough things to share to write an entire blog post: I’ve been busy spending a lot of quality time with friends and family, far from the bullet journal and organization world. But as I skipped the February edition, I managed to find some super inspiring content to share and I’m pretty happy to finally write a new inspiration post!
Paper Republic’s Grand Voyageur (+ giveaway!)
♥︎
I’ve met Jerôme, the founder of Paper Republic back in September when I visited Maison et Objets (an international design fair) in Paris. I fell in love with Paper Republic’s Travelers Notebooks at first sight. The leather covers are gorgeous: smooth touch, vibrants colours and hand made customization. Just the kind of products I love.
They were kind enough to send me one of their Grand Voyageur XL this fall, that I used it as my blog journal for a few months at the end of 2018. Even though I don’t use it on a daily basis anymore, I’m still love with my deep blue TN cover, and its leather smell that I find so comforting.
So when I started to think of what I could do to celebrate 25K followers on Instagram, I immediately thought that a Paper Republic would be an amazing prize for a giveaway. Now that my account reached 25K, I’m super happy to have been able to partner with them to organize an amazing giveaway on Instagram!
Of course, it’s still time to enter if you’d like a chance to get a deep blue Grand Voyageur leather cover, along with a Kaweco x Paper Republic fountain pen and some other amazing prizes. Head on over the Instagram post to enter! The giveaway is international and ends on Sunday, 15th.
Getting things done (GTD) by David Allen
♥︎
I vaguely heard of the Getting things done method before, but I really discovered it on Kara’s blog (Boho Berry) back in April 2016 (I can’t believe it’s been 2 years…). I didn’t get (or take) the chance to read David Allen’s book until I realized it was available in the local library.
It’s not really the kind of book I usually read (I’m more a fiction kind of girl), but I couldn’t ignore David Allen’s work and allow it to gather dust on a shelf. So I borrowed it and started to spend 25 minutes a day to read it (just the time of a Pomodoro), taking notes along the way.
I’m generally not a huge fan of this type of literature (mostly because most of personal development and productivity books are written by people who love talking about themselves and not so much about the method…). It was kind of a surprise to realize that I actually LOVE this one! I’m only halfway through it, but it already gave me tons of ideas of changes to make in my organization system. I’ve spend a lot of time reflecting on my system, and to adjust it to make it even more effective. One of the biggest changes I’ve made is that I started to work with Excel to better manage my projects, in addition to the bullet journal spreads I still use.
I’ll probably write an entire blog post about the GTD method itself and the way I implemented it in my organization system. In the meantime, and if you want to learn more about the Getting things done method you can shop the book over here.
Centre Pompidou’s bookstore
♥︎
The Centre Pompidou is an amazing modern art museum located in the center of Paris. If you ever visited Paris, you probably have seen the colourful pipes of this funny building. It’s one of the highlights of the city, one of my favourite places too and I recommend anyone visiting Paris to go there.
If most of the tourists just stay outside of the building, the inside has a hidden gem: the museum bookstore. If you don’t know the place, you could think that you need a ticket to enter the building, but the lines outside are actually just for security check and the entrance in the hall is free for everyone. That’s where you can access the bookshop.
It (of course) features loads of books about art, but it also offers a wide range of stationery supplies. The Pompidou center has its own stationery designs in relation to the collections and exhibition of the museum. So if you’re a huge fan of modern art, you may find some notebooks of your taste there. The shop also offers a wide range of other brands stationery supplies. You can find hundreds of notebooks from Moleskine (I think they have almost all the Moleskine products), Nuuna, Fabriano, Write Sketch & and some small french brands such as Monsieur Papier or Papier Merveille.
If you’re planning to visit Paris, I would definitely recommend to pay the Centre Pompidou bookstore a visit.

Ryder Carroll’s Ted Talk
♥︎
I have to admit (with some shame) that I didn’t know about Ryder’s Ted Talk before I searched some fresh inspiration for my bullet journal on www.bulletjournal.com and clicked some of the links lying in the “about’ section of the site.
I had a serious blast listening to his talk which is not only about the bullet journal system, but also about his planning process and how it can help to live a more intentional life. It resonated with some of the concepts I was already aware of from my project management experience and my fresh use of the GTD method.
It also made me re assess my priorities and gave me a shot of energy and motivation that is still at work as I’m writing this post. And there’s more to come: between the Bullet journal film directed by Alec Fischer and the book Ryder Carroll is working on and that should be released by the end of 2018, I’m sure I’m not done with the excitement about the bullet journal system this year!
Instagram inspiration
♥︎
Here we go for some Instagram inspiration!
This one is a bit special: all the accounts featured are run by French or French speaking people. The bullet journal community is growing among French speakers and I’m super happy to share some of my favourites accounts here!
Caro – Caro de la Papet
Caro is one of my best bujo friends. We got to know each other through the Circle of the 4 notebooks, where our friendship started. Beside our personal and work bounds, I’m also a huge fan of her Instagram account. Her spreads are always super clean and I can’t get enough of her lettering skills!
Charlotte – The Bujette
Charlotte’s journal is one of my favourites! And that’s not (only) because she uses the free stickers of the blog’s Library… She writes all her captions in English, but she’s actually a French girl living in Canada. I love the minimalistic look of her spreads and the quality of her pics. She recently hit 1K followers, but she definitely deserves a lot more!
Liza – Lizas Bullets
An other bullet journalist from Canada! Just like Charlotte, Liza writes her captions in English but all her spreads are in French. I love how straight to the point her layouts are. Her journal is very neat and simple, with just what it takes of colour and lettering to avoid boredom. I have a real crush on her work!
