After a 2 months break, the Inspiration posts are back!
Even though the last 2 months have been full of work and holidays, I made some nice discoveries. I used my 2 x 36 hours of travel to Ecuador to listen to new podcasts and read some inspiring books I’m sure you’ll appreciate too.
But let’s cut the little talk now and dive right into it! Here’s what inspired me in May and June!
Makkura stationery shop
♥︎
The Makkura stationery shop isn’t really a new discovery: the founder and owner is Karolina, one of my French bujo friends. So it’s been some time I knew she was working on this amazing project. Karolina is one of the biggest paper lover I know so you can definitely trust her selection!
Now that the shop is live, it’s time to share it with the world!
Good news is that the shop is currently offering 20% off all orders until July 15th.
The Makkura shop focus is on high quality paper goods, and especially stationery from Japan. As I’m a huge fan of the Japan design spirit, I’m tempted by a LOT of items… I’m considering upgrading my basic pen (currently a Papier Tigre one) for a Traveler’s brass and wood ballpoint pen, and I’d love to give the Tomoe paper a try after hearing so much about it on American blogs. I’m also craving for these brass numbered paper clip even though I wouldn’t know how to use them in my bullet journal for now.
The shop is also featuring some of the finest stationery brands such as the Clairefontaine notebooks (and their incredibly smooth paper).
To browse the selection and take advantage of the 20% coupon, head over the shop at www.papeterie-makkura.com
Passion Planner
♥︎
Well if you’re into planning for some time, you’ve probably already heard about Passion Planner. Passion Planner is a US based brand that design… planners. The Passion Planner has become a reference for all planners addict around the world.
I came across Passion Planner years ago, when the company launched. At that time, I had the opportunity to download a complete version of the planner for free. The file got lost in my multiple computer migrations, but the love I have for the brand and its planners stayed.
The layouts of the Passion Planners are of great inspiration for my bullet journal.
I’ve recently downloaded the free printables again, and even purchased a hard copy of the planner. I don’t really intend to use it for now, but find it of great help when it comes to set goals, turn them into a plan and reflect on progress.
To download the Passion Planner layout for free, click here. The printable only features the weekly spread. To purchase a hard copy and access the Passion Planner planning tips, head over Amazon or the Passion Planner online shop (beware: shipping costs are incredibly high if you’re not living in the US).
The Power of Now
by Eckhart Tolle
♥︎
I started to read “The Power of Now” during my last days in Ecuador.
I’m not really a personal development kind of girl but several people recommend this book to me… An as the friend I was travelling with had it in her backpack, I took it as a sign of fate and dive into it.
The questions and answer format makes the book easy to read. Eckhart Tolle is sharing his own experience, but the book focus is really on how to live in the present moment. The book explore how to get more present and focused, how to become aware of your environment and body and all the small things that makes life a beautiful place.
The goal of Eckhart Tolle is to open the eyes of the reader: we let our brains lead our lives and make us insecure. But if we manage to live in the Now, we find ourselves complete and become able to be our true selves.
I almost finished the book. I have to say that I didn’t get everything, but will definitely get back to it as needed. I’m now trying to surrender to the present moment and after a few days of constant reflection, I’m already feeling the power of now!
Yukiko Sakamura’s YouTube channel
♥︎
I recently opened a new series on the blog: The Planners.
For the first episode, my guest was Yukiko Sakamura. One of my top bullet journal inspiration. She answered all my questions about her planning system and her sources of inspiration.
As I was working on the interview, I realized I already talked about her Instagram feed but never shared Yukiko’s YouTube channel in my Inspiration posts… It was time to rectify this and feature bits of Yukiko’s work here.
Just as her Instagram feed, Yukiko’s YouTube channel features her planner, and gives a lot of planning tips: how to bullet journal in a Hobonichi Cousin, how to get out of a planner slump or what to do with your Passion Planner. She also shares super helpful tips on managing projects and prioritizing tasks.
If you’re wondering how to make the maximum out of your pre-printed planner or just need some inspiration from an experienced planner, you should definitely head over YouTube and watch Yukiko’s videos.
GTD Podcast
♥︎
I’m always looking for new podcasts on various topics such as politics or feminism. But I’m also craving for some new inspiring content about planning and productivity. So you can imagine how happy I was when I realised that in top of his Getting Things Done book, David Allen was also sharing tips and tricks about planning and organization through a podcast.
The podcast is basically a compilation of David Allen’s best key notes and conferences. Still, it’s super inspiring and full of concrete tips to improve your planning system. The podcast is very complementary to the book content. It’s a perfect way to dig deeper into the GTD system (and kill time with a useful diversion if you don’t have much to do).
Are you looking for the Instagram Inspiration section? I decided to skip it for this time… But that’s only because I’m working on a special Instagram inspiration post (spoiler: it will be all about summer holidays and travel spreads!).
So stay tuned and be patient, I’ll be back soon with this new post!
